First Tour stop of the Virging Kitesurf World Cup in Dakhla, Morocco
I had to wait for a few days to compete as they had to finish the qualifiers before they were able to start with the main event. The tension was building up and I could not wait to compete.
After a few light wind days, the wind was finally back and I was competing with my 7 and 6 Vegas. I thought that I was riding good in my first heat but my scores were very bad. When I looked at the first round scores I found that the power of a trick outweighed the technical difficulty leading to some strange results with easier to do tricks outscoring harder ones. I tried to change my heat for the second round and my scores were a bit better but not enough to win the heat.
I am proud that I am able to compete against the best girls in the world. I was training hard to be ready for the season and its a shame that the scoring system has been changed to a confused mixed up way of scoring. I have to look forward now and adjust my training to get better results next time.
